I’ve just completed the initial double consolidation cycle. Nelnet was my initial service provider, and I combined with EdFinancial and Aidvantage. Up until I received letters congratulating me on my new loans, everything looked to be going smoothly. Aidvantage was received normally, but I received a second letter stating that Mohela had been assigned to me as my new servicer by the US Department of Education. EdFinancial: what happened to it? Is something wrong here? I’m concerned since I know Nelnet won’t be able to consolidate going forward, so with whom am I supposed to complete the final round of double consolidation? I had hoped that the online application would make the last round simple, but now I’m afraid I could screw things up. Please assist!

Personally, I’ve completed Aidvantage and Nelnet for the first round and then chose Aidvantage or Nelnet for the second round (I’ve done this for my mother and a few others). I never really faced problems accessing SAVE.

You can simply use Edfinancial for the final consolidation.
