My loans are currently in the SAVE program and in administration forbearance until next month. But I thought we were supposed to be in forbearance until the court decides? I emailed Edfinancial, but I’m curious if anyone else is in the same situation.
Under Biden, we are in forbearance until the SAVE court case is decided. Under Trump, who knows. I checked my Mohela account, and it says my payments are set to restart in July 2025. Of course, that could change.
My Nelnet account shows I’m in forbearance until May.

Same here. Do we need to reapply for IDR in the meantime? Not sure what I should be doing right now…

I don’t even know how consistent this is within servicers, let alone across them. I’m seeing a lot of Nelnet accounts saying forbearance until May, but mine shows until August with recertification in July. It’s a total mess.
No way they end forbearance by 2/2025. The administration doesn’t even take over until 1/20, and even if they quickly move to end their opposition to the cases, they still need to create and communicate a plan for the 8 million borrowers in SAVE. You need to get a bill at least 21 days in advance, so March would be the earliest anyone would have a payment due. That’s assuming they manage to do something they’ve never done before and move fast.

Mine originally said March 2025, but now it says March 2026. What a joke.

Aidvantage sent me a letter saying I need to reapply for IDR by 02/22/2026. It doesn’t say which IDR program or when I’ll start paying again.
I also have Edfinancial, and I’m so confused. My payment shows that it’s starting again, but it said the same thing back in September, and it never did. I get emails that contradict each other.
Mine says forbearance until 5/25, but the next payment is due 1/26. Not sure if this has to do with the recertification being until then.
Where are you guys seeing the dates for repayment? Mine says it’s due 1/4/25. That’s my normal due date in MOHELA, but I haven’t paid since July…
