Anyone here have thoughts on the value of a Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB)?

Has anyone here done the CMB? Curious if it’s worth it for career growth. I’m midway through my career, and I wonder if this would be a boost.

Honestly, it’s pretty low. I’ve never had a single client or agent ask if I had a CMB designation.

Anyone who puts a bunch of titles after their name just looks silly.

Haha, good point!

It’s mainly for moving up in management or getting into executive roles. Most clients don’t really care about it.

I don’t have one myself, but the title’s real value is in the networking opportunities with others in the CMB community. Clients might not know or care what it is, but the network itself can be powerful for career moves. Best of luck if you go for it!

If it’s something that genuinely interests you, go for it. Just make sure it aligns with your career goals because the return really depends on where you want to go in the industry.

Wait… there’s a certification for this? Who’s issuing it?

Nobody really cares about it.
