In the autumn, I will be going to school. I completed my FAFSA and was awarded nearly $40k in financial aid, but, this year, I will require about $9,500. Please don’t tell me to transfer schools or attend community college. I have an athletic scholarship at this institution, which covers the majority of my tuition. My chosen major will be biology. I don’t have a way to travel to an off-campus work, and positions on campus conflict with my athletic schedule. Please, I really need this.
It’s challenging but possible to get a student loan without a credit history or co-signer through federal student loans, which do not require a credit check. Private loans may require a co-signer or credit history. Building credit or exploring grants and scholarships can also help offset costs without relying on loans.
Parent Plus Loan applications are available. Your parents would be the ones in charge of them and they would be registered in their name. However, you still receive a set amount of money even if your application is rejected. In 2015, when I returned, it was 4K for the year that had been rejected. That would leave you with 5.5 out of pocket for the year if everything stays the same. With a part-time work, that should be extremely possible at $2,750 per semester. Although you claim that managing your schedule is difficult, you will need to find a solution. Somewhere has to be given up. However, if you have no credit history and no co-signer, you won’t be granted approval for a private loan.
You can get federal student loans like Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans without a credit history or co-signer
Avoid taking out debts. Don’t, please. Seek an alternative or cost-free route.
