Can I Pay Off My Student Loans Completely While They're in Forbearance?

Hello all…

I only have a couple thousand dollars left to pay off my student loans, and I’ve been aggressively paying them down. The SAVE plan has helped a lot since I haven’t had any interest accruing. I decided to just pay the rest off since I have enough in my savings.

However, I just found out that my loan has been put into forbearance. Can I still make payments while it’s in forbearance? I really want to clear this debt and not have to worry about it anymore. Thanks in advance

paid for my one during the moratorium. I dislike being in debt and receiving additional monthly bills. Never anticipated forgiveness, but even in the unlikely event that I received nothing, I continued to ask for forgiveness. I have no regrets because I avoided paying interest. I’m fine with waiting and going through the refund process to get my $20k back, but if this doesn’t work out for me, I’ve already come to terms with the money being lost. I hope it works out for everyone.

Yup, you can still make payments even in forbearance. I did the same to knock out my last bit of student debt. If you’ve got the funds and want to be done with it, go for it! You’ll feel so much lighter once it’s off your back.
