I’m dealing with private loans through NCT and I’ve been trying to find a lawyer who handles student loans in Louisiana. The issue is that most lawyers seem to want to push bankruptcy. I don’t want to go down that route. I just need a lawyer who can help with paperwork and negotiations. Can anyone point me in the right direction for legal advice in my area?
You can try the LA bar’s attorney finder here: https://www.lsba.org/Public/FindLegalHelp/FindAttorney.aspx
How much are the loans for? And are they suing you for the full amount or a smaller sum? Is it the original creditor or a debt buyer?

It’s the original creditor, and it’s just one loan for a few thousand. Overall, the total of all my loans is probably around 20k. I’ve tried the online lawyer finder, but everyone I’ve found suggests bankruptcy. I really just need someone to represent me and help with the paperwork.
