Are people actually getting loans here or is this just a scam? Some are asking for down payments… I don’t know what to think. Please, I really need help.
Protect Yourself from Scams: Tips for a Safer Experience
Friends, please make sure you’re using official services and verified sources. If anyone asks for money or an upfront payment, be cautious—it could be a scam! If you’re looking for a loan, check trusted platforms that don’t ask for any money in advance.
A common red flag we’re seeing lately is new accounts without karma or a history, claiming to offer loans. These might be scammers trying to take advantage of you.
If you’re asking for a loan, avoid anyone who requests payment upfront or lacks a track record. Trusted lenders will usually have a reputation and reviews. Stick to well-known, secure platforms for loans to stay safe!
Don’t send money to someone you don’t trust and don’t make deals that seem too good to be true. Use only secure platforms, and always check the user’s karma and history. If something feels off, trust your gut.
Stay safe out there, folks! Keep an eye on those red flags.
I actually did get a loan here! I explained why I needed it and a nice person lent it to me within an hour. I only asked for $20 though.
This forum doesn’t really have many requirements for borrowers, so it’s hard to find reliable lenders. I occasionally lend, but it’s tough to trust people here—lots of new accounts popping up.
I lent someone 50¢ here, but they just blocked me afterward. It was a mistake, I guess.

Always use PayPal goods and services. It’s safer.

Yeah, I used Western Union, but I didn’t know any better at the time. I just felt bad for the person.
@Hollis
I get it, man. You might’ve been helping someone in need, but you ran into the wrong person. I hope you can get your money back, though. Sorry that happened.
I’ve both borrowed and lent money here, and I haven’t had any problems so far.
I tried, but didn’t get anywhere… it was just $15.
I borrowed from someone here, and they blocked me afterward. Luckily, I was able to get my money back, but now I don’t borrow from anyone anymore.
I’m following this thread out of curiosity.
I’ve helped a few people here.
I went through hoops trying to get a loan here, but I also got the sketchy ‘I can lend you this’ responses. If you’re in a bad financial spot, maybe this is a wake-up call.
Nope, never got a loan.
Only scams around here, but they’re priced at ‘GreedyFree’.
Tips for Borrowers from a Lender
We’ve seen a lot of vague loan requests and people wondering why they can’t get a loan. Here are some tips for a better experience:
If you’re looking for a loan:
- Be clear about how much you need, the interest you’re willing to pay, and when you plan to repay.
- Be ready to show ID and some proof of income, like pay stubs.
- Don’t just message random people hoping for a loan—it often has the opposite effect. If someone suggests reaching out, it’s usually for the original poster.
Red flags for borrowers:
- Never pay any deposit to get a loan.
- Be cautious of accounts with low karma or new users, especially those only offering loans.
Red flags for lenders:
- If the borrower refuses to use a secure method like PayPal goods/services, it’s a red flag.
- Be careful with new or low-karma accounts, especially if they only seem to ask for money.
Stay safe, everyone!
