Among the numerous DeVry students involved in the latest class action lawsuit was me. Because we live so close to the edge, I was pleased to get a check for $171 on Monday. The fact that the check was returned today made me less pleased. My bank returned it due to insufficient cash when I called. Will DeVry and its allies never quit ripping us off? I am unable to get my paid bills back.
Last week I received a $133 check. I just learned that they do not have the money; my account was not even overdrawn, and my check was returned, with me having to pay the return fee. When I phoned the number listed in the letter, I was told to write an email regarding the last option regarding check issues. Everything about this feels like a fraud.
It’s so frustrating when you’re finally hoping for a bit of relief, and then—bam!—it’s back to square one. Seems like some companies just don’t learn, huh? I’d suggest keeping in touch with DeVry or checking in with the class action lawyers. They might be able to help sort this out or at least give you some answers.
Contact the settlement administrator to resolve the issue with your returned check. Document everything, dispute bank charges, and consider legal advice if necessary. Many others have faced similar problems and found solutions.
Hello, guys yes It is true that there have been an instances of DeVry settlement cheques not clearing, a mistake in the administration caused the wrong payment amounts, which is the right explanation for this. Originally processing the settlement, Kroll Settlement Administration LLC, produced checks with erroneous amounts on them. Certain checks were halted and bounced as a result.
