HiBuddies,
I hope someone can shed some light on my situation. I recently checked my credit report, and to my surprise, my student loans are no longer listed. I’ve been diligently paying them off for years, and they’ve always shown up on my report.
I’m concerned because I don’t know if this is a mistake or if something more serious is happening. Has anyone experienced this before? Should I contact my loan servicer or the credit bureau directly? Any advice would be greatly appreciated…
my buddies lets digest this,You can obtain a free credit report from each of the three major bureaus (Equifax, Experian, TransUnion) once a year. This will help you check if the loans are listed on any of them.
Your student loan disappeared from your credit report because your loan servicer made a mistake, or you fell into default more than 7 years ago. Remember, even if your loans no longer appear on your credit report, you’re still legally obligated to repay them
Perhaps it will take some time for the loan servicer and studentgov to update, since I read on the studentgov website that the process will be finished by September 1st. My credit score increased by 50 points, but I’m not sure why.
