For the past week, I’ve been attempting to access the MyFedLoan app, but it continuously displays a maintenance message, stating it will be back shortly. Is anyone else experiencing this issue or knows why the app is inaccessible? Could it be related to the loans being sold off? Any insights?

FedLoan’s app may no longer be supported, and their website has been taken down. Midway through 2022, PHEAA ceased overseeing the loans, and it appears that the organization is winding down and ceasing to exist.

It’s one thing to know that you’re switching to a new service provider. It’s quite another to know that you will never again have access to your history.

FedLoan Servicing, which collected and tracked federal student loan payments, is no longer active. Its government contract expired in December 2022, and all loans in the FedLoan portfolio have been transferred to other servicers such as MOHELA, Aidvantage, Edfinancial, or Nelnet.

You are absolutely correct, Myfedloan.org is not operational anymore. Federal student loans were no longer handled by FedLoan Servicing as of December 2021 [1]. Their accounts were moved to new providers, such as Aidvantage, Edfinancial, MOHELA, and Nelnet [1].
