So, if I had a loan from Navient or I’m receiving bills from Navient, is everything now managed exclusively by Aidvantage? I just want to clarify because I’ve been receiving bills from ‘Navient’ for several months, but I don’t see any payments reflected when I check my Aidvantage account.
No, the only loans that are now Aidvantage are those that belong to the Department of Education and were formerly handled by Navient. Other loans are still serviced by Navient.
Consider the following: DoEd owns two FFEL loans, while Navient is the owner of eleven FFEL loans. The remaining is still with Navient; only the first two are with Aidvantage. Because of the pause, Aidvantage will not reflect any payments that are due; however, this will quickly alter.
Since I started attending classes in 2019 and graduated in 2020, I’ve heard about accounts being transferred from Navient, and I haven’t heard anything from ANYONE regarding my student loans. Nothing about where they went, how much, or anything. Not an email, not a call, not a letter. I’m interested to know how people respond to this!
It’s interesting that you mentioned this right now. My hubby recently discovered that his Navient loans had been transferred to Aidvantage after I requested him to verify them.
